Fallen Timbers Battlefield Monument
The Battle of Fallen Timbers occurred on August 20, 1794. It was the final battle of the Northwest Indian War (1785-1795, also known as the Ohio War and Little Turtle’s War), during which Native American tribes affiliated with the Western Confederacy and their British allies battled against the nascent United States for control of the Northwest Territory.
This impressive monument to the important battle is across the Anthony Wayne Trail from the actual battlefield. A bike/pedestrian bridge connects the two sites.
Owned by Ohio History Connection, the monument is situated on a bluff overlooking Side Cut Metropark and the beautiful Maumee River.
